Industrialist Samuel Adedoyin Loses Daughter Omolola

Billionaire industrialist, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, has lost one of his daughters, Princess Omolola Olobayo.

The Kwara State-born founder of Doyin Group lost a grandson to suicide last June, even as another daughter of his had died of cancer in 2018.

Omolola reportedly passed away in a Lagos hospital on Tuesday night.

Omolola, who was a former president, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, North Central zone and Executive Director, Sales and Marketing, Global Soap and Detergents Company, Ilorin, reportedly died of cardiac arrest.

The late princess, who was married to Prince John Olobayo, lost her first son, Subomi, 28, in June.

The latest death comes about three years after another of Prince Adedoyin’s daughter, Funke, passed on in 2018.

Funke, then a member of the House of Representatives, died in September 2018 from cancer.

She had, before then, served as a minister in the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Omolola was reported to have died in a Lagos hospital after being on admission for seven days.

Her husband, who confirmed Omolola’s death to newsmen on phone on Wednesday, said that the family would meet to deliberate on the burial arrangement.

“She died in a Lagos hospital on Tuesday night. The family will meet to discuss the burial arrangement. A statement will be issued after the meeting to announce the burial arrangement,” John said.

The family home of the Olobayos at Reservation Road, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State, was a ghost town on Wednesday evening, as nobody was available when The PUNCH correspondent visited the place.

John Olobayo was said to have traveled to Lagos.
