Chidiogo, the daughter of murdered Dr Chike Akunyili has written an emotional tribute for him.
Her mother, Prof Dora Akunyili, a former Minister of Information, died in 2014 after a serious battle with cancer.
The father, who ran St Leo hospital, said to be one of the best in Enugu, was murdered on Tuesday by gunmen.
His killers, according to her, mirror the current state of the society, quoting the Zulu Ubuntu philosophy “I am because we are.”
According to the mother of one, the death of her father shows the pain the nation as a whole is going through.
She wrote: “Ubuntu – “I am because we are”. If this holds true, then the man who pulled the trigger twice is because we are – his anger, the injustice of his actions and the violence are because it is mirrored in the world around him. If “I am because we are ” then my father’s pain gasping for breath in his last moment is because we are a nation of pain.”
