Hon. Maifata Muazu was the All Progressive Congress (APC) flag bearer in the election conducted by the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission. The indefatigable grassroots politician defeated his closest rival, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a wide margin.
He scored a total of 167,351 votes to beat the PDP candidate who had 16,918 votes. With this record victory, Muazu is continuing his second term as chairman of Lafia Local Government Area. Congratulations Honourable Chairman.
