Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed shock over the gruesome murder of an 11-year-old Almajiri at the Kofar Wambai area of Bauchi metropolis, describing it as unfortunate.
Newsmen had reported that the Almajiri boy was last Saturday lured to a desolate place with another boy by an unknown person with a pledge to give them food but instead smashed the skill of the deceased with a big stone and removed his brain.
It was the other Almajiri who escaped from the scene of the attack with bloodstains all over his body who drew the attention of their Qur’an teacher and other people to the incident before the remains of the deceased were recovered.
Speaking when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, including the Qur’anic teacher of the pupil, Alaramma Muhammadu Auwalu, Governor Mohammed said his administration would not condone any form of crime and criminality in the state.
The governor, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Umar Babayo Kesa, pledged to collaborate with security agencies to fish out the culprit and mete out the appropriate sanction against him to serve as a deterrent to others.
He called on people in the state to continue to be vigilant security agencies of any suspicious movements for prompt action.
While directing security agencies to immediately swing into action to fish out the perpetrator of the dastardly act, Governor Mohammed assured that his administration would not take it lightly with anyone found culpable over the death of the little boy.
While condoling the family of the deceased and the Qur’an teacher, the governor prayed to Allah to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Bauchi State Traditional Qur’anic Schools, Alaramma Zakariyau Dauduwo, expressed dismay over the killing of the innocent child and condoled with the victim’s family over the loss.
Dauduwo said members of his school would continue to pray to Allah to expose whoever had a hand in the killing of the innocent boy
Responding, Alaramma Auwalu expressed gratitude to Governor Mohammed and the state government officials for the visit as well as their concerns over the sad incident.
Auwalu informed that the biological father of the deceased had taken the incident as destiny, saying that this notwithstanding, the family would not stop government and security agencies from doing all they could to arrest those behind the dastardly act and bring them to book.
