Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, was present on Wednesday to receive the UEFA Champions League trophy from the Trophy Tour Ambassador, Clarence Seedorf at the Mosshodd Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Seedorf has been in the country since Tuesday as part of a two-day Heineken UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour.
Seedorf is a four-time winner of the Champions League, and also the first player to win the title with three different clubs, Ajax (1995) Real Madrid (1998) and AC Milan (2003, 2007).
Also present at the reception were the former assistant coach of the Super Eagles, Daniel Amokachi and PSG and Bolton legend Austin Jay -jay Okocha.
The former coach of Cameroon also paid a cordial visit to the Nigerian female U-17 team, the Flamingoes, as they prepared for their Sunday’s meeting with Egypt in the first leg, final round of the African qualifiers leading to the U17 Women’s World Cup in India.
