The Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority, Shehu Ahmad, has warned that all houses built along flood plains would be demolished.
Ahmad, who accused developers in the area of distorting the master plan and causing flooding, added that structures erected in unapproved areas would be pulled down.
Many houses were submerged after a flood took over Dogongada, Lokogoma, Damangaza and Apo Dutse in the Gudu district areas of the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday.
Ahmad, who spoke while receiving the management of the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency, according to a statement on Friday by the agency’s spokesperson, Nkechi Isa, also called for a joint stakeholders’ conference to address the perceived violations before the start of the rainy season.
