Kidnapping for ritual purposes is not only prevalent in Nigeria afterall as the practice has spread it tentacles to other African countries.
A video making rounds online captured the moment the Ghanian police arrived a scene to arrest a man who allegedly wanted to sacrifice two of his children in exchange for money.
The police were invited by a native doctor and herbalist known as Nana Adu-Boafo to arrest the man identified as Evans Oppong.
The suspect, Evan Oppong was said to have picked his daughter from school while classes was still ongoing under the guise of getting her a new dress and headed straight to the herbalist’s house to perform the rituals but met his Waterloo when the police picked him up
Narrating the incident, the herbalist Boafo said Evans who had recently returned after a while abroad had come in for consultations seeking for solutions to end his financial challenges.
He added that the father of 12 offered to sacrifice 2 of his daughters for money ritual purposes. He added that he was offered 10,000 Ghana cedis and other surprises upon completion of the ritual.
The herbalist went further to say his decision to report the incident to the police was an attempt to change the perception of the public who often view herbalists as messengers of evil as portrayed in movies and the media.
