That on 26/06/2022 at about 2320hrs, information on our disposal revealed that, there was a fatal motor vehicle accident along Hadejia to Kano Road.
The accident involved a motor vehicle Lexus black in color with reg no. AAA 153 EA, driven by one Habib Habib Tall ‘m’ age 30yrs of Yalleman Quarters Kaugama LGA, carried eight (8) passengers, conveyed bride from Hadejia to Yalleman.
On reaching Gidan sugar, on their way back to Hadejia, while on motion, both the rear and front tyre were removed, the driver lost control, the vehicle somersaulted and swarmed by road side.
On receipt of the dastardly report, a team of Policemen swung into action and visited the scene, victims were evacuated and rushed to General Hospital Hadejia for treatment.
Six persons were confirmed and certified dead by Medical Doctor while receiving treatment, they are;
1_ Baba Rabi’a Aliyu ‘f’ age 50yrs,
2_ Ummi Abubakar ‘f’ age 30yrs,
3_ Aisha Soja ‘f’ age 27yrs,
4_ Radiya Turaki ‘f’ age 3yrs,
5_ Kabir Sani ‘m’ age 2 and a half yrs, all of Wunti Quarters Hadejia LGA, and
6_ Habib Habib Tall ‘m’ age 30yrs of Yalleman Quarters, Kaugama LGA.
The other three passengers were on admission receiving treatment.
Corpses were released to relatives for burial arrangements.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, psc while condoling the family of the deceased, prays Almighty Allah have mercy on the departed souls and grant them fortitude to bear the loss.
He warned good people of Jigawa to avoid overloading, over speeding, hard drugs, alcohol and night journey. He further advice motorist to be checking their vehicle’s tyres, brake and other essential parts before embarking on any journey.
